Ephesians: The Mystery of God

I. Opening Song

Song: ”Doxology (Amen)”

II. Call To Worship

Reading: Psalm 65

Call: This is the Word of the Lord.

Response: Praise be to God

Song: All Praise To Him”

III. Confession

Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24,

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:

Lord, the arrows of your conviction have sunk into our hearts, and the hand of your righteousness is impressed upon our guilty conscious. There is nothing dependable about our flesh, and our bones are sick with sin. The weight of our iniquity is too great for us to bear, and the foolishness of a mocker festers within our hearts. Our souls ache, our strength fails, and the light of our eyes grow dim under the shadows of our depravity. Each day, oh God, we stand ready to fall; we stumble over the desires of the flesh, we trip over the pride of life, and we stagger as if intoxicated by the lust of the eyes. Our sins are ever before us, so we come to you now, we confess our iniquity; we are sorry for our sins.

Response: Father, forgive us.

Song: My Hope Is Built”

IV. Assurance of Pardon

Corporate Call:

Church, know we serve a God who is not deaf to our cries, nor silent in his forgiveness. The confessions of God’s holy people are carried into the throne room of grace by the Spirit of the Living God; the great King of Glory hears them, and they are cast into the sea by the Ancient of Days. Yes, Church, God hears the cries of your confession and responds with these words of comfort: you are his bride, for whom he died. You are his child, in whom he is well pleased. You are his body, through whom he works, and you are his people, among whom he dwells. Church, do not doubt the great love God has for you, for you are his beloved, you are his bride, you are his child, and he invites you to his table so that you may be assured of his love for you. So hear these words as God’s words over you, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven.

Response:  Praise be to God!

Song: “Death Was Arrested

V. Sermon

As a child of the King, you may eat and drink at the table He has prepared for you. Together we shall celebrate His victory & proclaim His death until He returns to feast with us again. Take heart; He has not forgotten you.

Song: "Jesus Is Better”

VII. Offering: (You may place your Prayer Requests in the offering basket)

Call:

Now may we respond by faithfully and generously giving of our resources to advance the work of the Gospel and God’s kingdom on earth.

Song: “This I Believe (The Creed)”

VII. Benediction

Call: Romans 11:33, 36

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

You are sent!
