I. Opening Song

Song: ”Death Was Arrested”

II. Call To Worship

Reading: Psalm 24

Song: All Praise To Him”

III. Confession

Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24,

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:

Lord, we call out for your salvation, for the waters have come up to our necks as we sink into the deep mire of sin where there is no firm foundation. Our throats are parched from the gossip we have spewed and our eyes have grown dim to your glory, for we have filled them with the splinters of lust. Oh Lord, you know our foolishness; the wrongs we have done are not hidden from your sight. Disgrace has covered our faces; for our hands have been idle and our thoughts have wandered, our tongues have roamed without a leash, and our emotions have not been tethered to your word. Lord, we need your grace, we need your salvation, we need you to save us! Let not the flood sweep over us or the deep swallow us; forgive us, Lord, for the evil we have done. And this we ask by the blood of Christ.

Response: Father, forgive us.

Song: Broken Vessels”

IV. Assurance of Pardon

Corporate Call:

Church, there is no firm foundation when we build upon the sands of sin’s folly. For the fickle feelings of fleeting pleasures dissolve before the foundation of the throne of grace. For the foundation of God’s throne is unshakable, unmovable, and unrelenting. From his throne comes love and mercy, grace and peace, truth and righteousness. Jesus Christ, the great and mighty King, has taken you from the mire of shame and guilt and has seated you securely upon the Rock of his steadfast love and eternal faithfulness. And upon this Rock, you will find an abundance of grace and a storehouse of mercy for the forgiveness of your sins. For Christ has purchased you by his blood and has cast your sins into the deepest sea. Hear these words, Church: by the great and powerful name of Jesus, I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!

Response:  Praise be to God!

Song: There Is A Fountain”
