I. Opening Song
II. Call To Worship
Reading: Psalm 67
Call: This is the Word of the Lord.
Response: Praise be to God
Song: “Forever (We Sing Hallelujah)”
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24,
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
God, the sinful hearts of mankind were set against you beginning in the garden and we continue to rebel against you today, subject to the effects of the Fall. When we give in to worldly temptations we join the nations in their rage to overthrow your authority. We want to join the rebellion and tear apart the bonds you’ve given to us, the cords that protect us and bless us. We desire autonomy and individual exaltation more than we desire righteous submission to your saving power. We have plotted, even this week, to gain glory and honor for ourselves by ignoring your commandments to love neighbor as self and love You, our God and King, above all. From our lowly perspective we covet the adoration you receive as we see you seated high and lifted up. We take our filthy rags of self-righteous acts and we white-wash them in order to boast in ourselves. We declare our opinions over your Word as we read; and we replace your authority to rule our lives with our own. We distort the God-breathed revelation of scripture to affirm as good what you call evil. Instead of proclaiming the good news to all sinners, we take the world’s message of destruction into our homes and we raise our children with its doctrines. Jesus, our sin desires to be awakened each day; we need your mercy and grace to recognize our sins and we need your face to shine upon us, so we confess to you now.
Response: Father, forgive us.
Song: “Your Mercy”
IV. Assurance of Pardon
Although we have prayed countless times with vain pride, “Lord, I thank you that I am not like other men,” God has pardoned our pride by the humble death of Jesus on the cross. He has sprinkled our hearts clean and has washed our bodies with pure water giving us full assurance of faith. In Jesus’ life, death and resurrection He has torn down the dividing wall of hostility and He has created, in His name, a new creation. Jesus speaks love over us and promises to continually draw his people back to his worthy calling on our lives, to fulfill every resolve in us for good and to create, by His power, every act of our faith. He has, according to his mercy, saved his beloved by the washing of regeneration and the renewal of the Holy Spirit. Church, there is no death, no life, no angel or ruler, no current trial or future trouble, no power, no height nor depth that can separate us from His omnipotent salvation and perfect love. So, Church, hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus, I declare to you that your sins are forgiven.
Response: Praise be to God!
Song: “Man Of Sorrows”
The Missio Dei
“The Ends Of The Earth”
Acts 1:1-8 | Pastor Zach Ritz
As a child of the King, you may eat and drink at the table He has prepared for you. Together we shall celebrate His victory & proclaim His death until He returns to feast with us again. Take heart; He has not forgotten you.
VII. Offering: (You may place your Connect Cards in the offering basket)
Now may we respond by faithfully and generously giving of our resources to advance the work of the Gospel and God’s kingdom on earth.
Song: “Living Hope”
Call: Ephesians 4:1-3,
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
