I. Opening Song
Song: ”Only King Forever”
II. Call To Worship
Reading: Romans 8:26-39
Call: This is the Word of the Lord.
Response: Praise be to God
Song: “10,000 Reasons”
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24,
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
Lord, how quickly we lose sight of your majestic glory, and how soon we forget your unrelenting faithfulness. Our vision has grown dim to your greatness for the silhouette of our pride and self-worship have distracted and darkened our sight. When the shadows of our past are cast over the present, we fail to worship for the thorns of meaninglessness and despair wrap themselves around our affections. Yet, we embrace these shadows as old friends and sink into their arms looking to reminisce. We are glad to taste the morsels of gossip and find satisfaction as we feast on bitterness and anger. Lust burns in our bellies like a good wine. We become intoxicated on sin’s affirmation and fail to smell the smoke as our tongues set the whole world on fire. Oh Lord, how quickly we lose sight as we embrace the darkness of these shadows. We need the Lord of light to banish the darkness and rescue us from the bondage of despair. So we come to you now, confessing our sins.
Response: Father, forgive us.
Song: “What I Deserve”
IV. Assurance of Pardon
Though the shadows of our sin are dark, and the weight of our guilt is more than we can bear, we serve the great king who has taken us from the kingdom of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of light. Every mocking voice that shrieks of your shame and every accusing scream seeking to condemn have been silenced by the blood of the cross. For the righteousness of Christ has covered your shame and Jesus himself was condemned on your behalf. For he took the curse of sin into his own body so that we might receive the divine blessing of the new creation. Church, your sins can no longer condemn you, your guilt has been pardoned and your shame has been exchanged for a new identity as a child of God. Do not despair, do not lose heart, for the great King has overcome the world. Church, hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!
Response: Praise be to God!
Song: “Living Hope”

As a child of the King, you may eat and drink at the table He has prepared for you. Together we shall celebrate His victory & proclaim His death until He returns to feast with us again. Take heart; He has not forgotten you.
