II. Call To Worship

Reading: Psalm 93

Call: This is the Word of the Lord.

Response: Praise be to God

Song: King Of My Heart”

III. Confession

Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24,

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:

God, your words spoke creation into existence. And with the words of our mouths we destroy that which you have called good. Rather than speaking with love, we have venomous hate on our lips. We lie to others so that we might be exalted, we gossip so that others might be cast down. We spew falsehoods and deceit for selfish gain. We lift our hands in worship to you while our mouths pay homage to another. Lord, our hearts are wicked and our speech reflects our depravity.  We need your grace so we come to you for forgiveness by the blood of the cross.

Response: Father, forgive us.

Song: Living Hope”

IV. Assurance of Pardon

Corporate Call:

Church, we serve a God whose mercy extends to the depths of wicked hearts. His grace triumphs over the condemnation of our sins, and his redemption is complete, lacking nothing. Though our words are stained with evil intentions Christ has washed us in the Word and cleansed us from all unrighteousness. For Christ is the very word made flesh, and he has taken upon himself every insult, every slur, every deplorable utterance our wicked hearts produce. Yet the weight of our guilt and shame was not strong enough to keep him in the grave, for by the power of God he triumphed over death. And he has spoken a new word over you, so church here these words of truth, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you your sins are forgiven.

Response:  Praise be to God!

Song: Lamb Of God"
