I. Opening Song

Song: “Cannons"

II. Call To Worship

Reading: Psalm 68:17-19,24-26,32-35

Call: This is the Word of the Lord.

Response: Praise be to God

Song: “The Stand"

III. Confession

Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24,

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:

God, before your holiness who can stand? Before your awesome power, we are undone. Your majesty and glory are frightening, and your righteousness is terrifying. Oh God, who can stand before your throne and not tremble in horror. For you are clothed in splendor, and we cannot endure the weight of your glory. When you call us into the presence of your holiness our sin is revealed, our shame is made known, and our guilt is too much to bear.  Oh God, we need to cover our shame and rid ourselves of guilt, but our most righteous works are like filthy rags before you. There is nothing that can hide us from your judgment. So pleading for forgiveness we confess our sins to you this morning, trusting in the atoning blood of Christ.

Response: Father, forgive us.

Song: “All I Have Is Christ"

IV. Assurance of Pardon

Corporate Call:

We serve a king who does not leave his people far off but turns our hearts toward himself.  Jesus is the great king, the Lion and the Lamb, the Alpha and the Omega, he the creator God whose mercy is without end.  He has absorbed the fire of judgment so that he could bring us through the cleansing waters of baptism. Every rebel thought, and every disordered affection that fights against the Lordship of Christ has been atoned for on the cross. Upon that cross, Jesus was consumed by the full force of God’s holy justice, so that we may stand justified before a holy God. And upon his resurrection, he ascended to the right hand of the father where he now forever makes intercession for his bride. Church, we serve a God who fully forgives, he renews his covenant with his people, and he separates our sins as far as the east is from the west. So here these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus, I declare to you that your sins are forgiven.

Response:  Praise be to God!

Song: “Man Of Sorrows"
