I. Opening Song
Song: “Jesus is Better"
II. Call To Worship
Reading: Isaiah 25:1-9
Call: This is the Word of the Lord.
Response: Praise be to God
Song: “O Come All Ye Faithful"
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24,
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
Lord, our tongues drip with deceit, we fill our stomachs with corruption, and our hearts burn with pride. With our breath, we curse that which you have redeemed, and with a smile on our face, we plot against that which you love. Without consent, we consume wickedness like a feast, and our plates overflow with anger. We feast on filthiness taking for granted your long-suffering and forgiveness. You invited us to your table, and we have experienced your love, and we have tasted your mercy, yet to our shame, we turn our heads and cover our eyes so as to not acknowledge you for all you have done. Oh Lord, our stomachs are full from feasting on the curse of disobedience. Our selfishness has kept us from the table of your love, Lord fill us with your grace and pour your mercy upon us.
Response: Father, forgive us.
Song: “How Deep The Fathers Love"
IV. Assurance of Pardon
Church, though we have despised the good gifts of God, he has not left us hungry. He has taken you by the hand and brought you to the banquet of his benevolence, to the table of his grace. He has invited you to feast on the faithfulness of the Christ, where he has promised never to let you go. He has called you to fill yourself on his mercy and love which he serves you personally with his nail-torn hands. At this table, he gives you a full serving of his grace, so that no matter what you’ve done, you’re always given more. Church you have been seated at his table, not as a guest, but as the bride of Christ. Because of what the bridegroom has done for you, you are honored and loved. Now, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Church, hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!
Response: Praise be to God!
Song: “My Chains Are Gone"
