I. Opening Song
Song: “Great Is Thy Faithfulness"
II. Call To Worship
Reading: Psalm 133-134
Call: This is the Word of the Lord.
Response: Praise be to God
Song: “Jesus is Better"
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24,
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
Lord, the pride of our hearts and the selfishness of our flesh are wicked beyond comprehension. Our anger rises like smoke from the flame when the strong humility of faithful saints exposes our hubris and self-exalting actions. Our cowardice seems to echo into eternity when confronted with the bold confidence of a child. When we sing songs of praise and offer prayers for the people of God we do so often with pharisaical hearts; impressed with ourselves when we should be making petitions for one another. Oh God, we make no room in our hearts for your people, for our sinful pride has taken up residence. Lord, our hearts need to be cleansed from a week of selfishness and pride. So we come to you, the only one who is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Response: Father, forgive us.
Song: “All I Have Is Christ"
IV. Assurance of Pardon
Church, we serve a King who on our behalf has gone to war, has fought the battle, and claimed the victory that we could never attain on our own. Jesus has crucified our pride and selfishness on the cross and brought their due punishments to the grave. And upon his resurrection, he has provided us with a new life, a forgiven life. He has given us a life within himself, he has made room and has brought us into the very communion and union of God. And in the presence of the Almighty, every sin is forgiven, every particle of selfishness is pardoned, and every depraved desire is dismissed. For the grace of God is a complete grace, it is effectual and accomplishes the full forgiveness of sin. So Church, hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!
Response: Praise be to God!
Song: “Man Of Sorrows"
The High Priestly Prayer
John 17:20-26 | Pastor Kyle Lammott
As a child of the King, please come forward to eat and drink at the table He has prepared for you. Together we shall celebrate His victory & proclaim His death until He returns to feast with us again. Take heart; He has not forgotten you.
Song: “In Christ Alone”
VII. Offering: (You may place your Connect Cards in the offering basket)
Now may we respond by faithfully and generously giving of our resources to advance the work of the Gospel and God’s kingdom on earth.
Song: “King Of My Heart"
Call: Colossians 3:1–4,
“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
