Song: Restore To Me (Psalm 51)

III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:
Upon the cross, O Lord, we are confronted with the depth of our sin: the weight of our wickedness presses heavy, and the severity of our rebellion pierces our souls. We stand undone before your holiness, unworthy of grace, yet met by mercy so radiant, so undeserved.

We confess that we are a people whose thoughts wander to darkness, whose words betray the truth, and whose actions bow before the impulses of a sinful heart. Mind, body, and soul—our entire being—stands guilty before your righteousness, deserving condemnation.

But now, O Lord, we run to you. We flee to the boundless storehouses of your mercy, pleading for forgiveness. Look upon us not in judgment, but through the lens of your Son, Jesus Christ.

Lord hear our prayer as together we cry:

Response: Father, forgive us.

IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where the Great High Priest has now interceded on your behalf.

Though your thoughts, words, and deeds testify to your sin, you stand not alone in guilt and shame. Instead, you stand secure, redeemed by the blood of Christ. And if this is true, who can bring any charge against God’s elect? Who can condemn the bride of Christ?

For the King—Jesus Christ—has taken upon Himself your guilt, your shame, and your condemnation. He has borne your sin, nailed it to the cross, buried it in the grave, and risen victorious. By the power of the Holy Spirit, you are raised to a new life, unshakable in the love of God.  And this is good news!

So Church, hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!

Response: Thanks be to God!
