II. CALL TO WORSHIP
Reading: Psalm 95:1-6
Call: THIS IS THE WORD OF THE LORD.
Response: THANKS BE TO GOD!
Song: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
Song: O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
Corporate Call:
Lord, we confess that we have grievously sinned against you in word, thought, and deed. We have once again fallen short of your glory
Lord, you are worthy of all our praise, you are deserving of our undying adoration, and our unfailing allegiance. Yet, before your glorious presence, we are undone. Lord, we confess that our praise is distorted, our adoration is deviant, and our devotion is debilitated and debased. Oh God, as sparks fly upward we are prone toward trouble, our selfishness and pride burn like a fire, and their flames scorch the beauty of your creation. We are in need of your grace oh God, for our sinfulness is great. We are in need of your mercy oh God, for our hearts are prone to wander.
For this reason we run to your infinite mercy and seek your forgiveness, so in the name of Jesus, oh Lord, hear our cry:
Response: Father, forgive us.
IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where the Great High Priest has now interceded on your behalf.
There are no boundaries our King has not crossed to save his people. He is relentless in the pursuit of his bride. The Incarnation of the eternal son of God announces that Christ entered into the wilderness of sin to save you. There are no sins he has not conquered, there are no enemies he has not crushed, there are no walls he has not destroyed, and there are no chains that can keep the bride from the Victorious King. Even death itself cannot separate us from the love of God! He has entered into flesh, and death upon a cross to reverse the curse by bringing life from the grave!
AND THIS IS GOOD NEWS!
So lift up your hearts and hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!
Response: Thanks be to God!
Song: The Solid Rock
V. SERMON
The Word Became Flesh: A Theology of the Incarnation
John 1:14; Genesis 1:1; Ezekiel 34

As a child of the King, you may eat and drink at the table He has prepared for you. Together we shall celebrate His victory & proclaim His death until He returns to feast with us again. Take heart; He has not forgotten you.
