Liturgy Guide - July 28th
I. OPENING
Song: All Creatures Of Our God And King
II. CALL TO WORSHIP
Reading: Isaiah 12:2-6
Call: THIS IS THE WORD OF THE LORD.
Response: THANKS BE TO GOD!
Song: Behold Our God
Song: From The Depths Of Woe I Raise To Thee (Psalm 130)
III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
Corporate Call:
God, we come before you as men and women, boys and girls, with the stains of sin upon our feet. We are stained with sins of our past and the sins of our present. The Accuser screams in our ears that we are unworthy of grace and that we are outside the reach of your love. We seek to quiet the voices by turning ourselves over to their demands. Our sins are ever before us and our need for a savior is clearly seen. We need our sin stained feet washed and cleansed by the hands of our high priest and king. So standing on the promises of your Holy Word, we come to you, So receive us now as we come to the storehouses of your mercy seeking your forgiveness. So now in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord, hear our cry!
Response: Father, forgive us.
IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where the Great High Priest has now washed you and cleansed you of all your sins.
Beloved, the gospel announces into all eternity that Jesus Christ has once and for all defeated death and sin. He was crucified, buried, and was raised on the third day. He then ascended to the right hand of the Ancient of Days and now he rules and reigns in glory. And this great king now brings many sons to glory.
He has taken you from objects of wrath and has transformed you into objects of his love and affection. Yes, Church, Jesus has washed you and cleansed you; he lavished his astonishing grace upon you, For you are united to Christ, and thus a child of the King.
So Church, hear these words, by the great and powerful and glorious name of Jesus I declare to you, your sins are forgiven!
Response: Thanks be to God!
Song: Great I Am
V. SERMON
Psalms, Hymns, and Other Spiritual Battles
Sammie Hargrave, Deacon
VI. OFFERING

Call: Now may we respond by faithfully and generously giving of our resources to advance the work of the Gospel and God’s kingdom on earth.

VII. COMMUNION
As a child of the King, you may eat and drink at the table He has prepared for you. Together we shall celebrate His victory & proclaim His death until He returns to feast with us again. Take heart; He has not forgotten you.
