Song: Psalm 46 (Lord Of Hosts)
III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
Corporate Call:
Lord, we come humbly before you this morning, laying aside all excuses for our sins. When we are confronted with the brilliance of your holiness, the depths of our depravity are exposed. We openly confess that in the past week, our hearts and minds, our motives and emotions, have been in disarray. Despite our efforts to present a facade of acceptability, our inner being suffers in turmoil. There are hidden corners of our lives where shame, bitterness, resentment, and pride fester. We acknowledge our complete inability to resolve our own brokenness and rebellion; we are totally reliant on your redemptive power. Therefore, we seek shelter in your boundless mercy, earnestly imploring your forgiveness through Jesus Christ, our Lord. It is in his name that we cry out to you.
Response: Father, forgive us.
IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not fallen on deaf ears, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where the Great High Priest has now interceded on your behalf.
The Almighty God, the maker of heaven and earth, the ascended King, has achieved all there is to accomplish to fully forgive and restore you who have fallen into sin.
Beloved, behold the magnificence: Jesus the Christ bore your sins upon the cross, liberating you from guilt, cleansing you from shame, freeing you from your fear, and rescuing you out of your bondage. His resurrection granted you life, and now, the exalted Christ, reigning at the right hand of the Father, has called you to live and move in the glorious freedom of his mercy and grace!
So lift up your hearts and hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!
Response: Thanks be to God!
Song: All Praise To Him
