Song: The Lord Almighty Reigns (Psalm 93)
Song: Restore To Me (Psalm 51)

III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:
Lord, as the flowers fade and the grass withers, they sing the song of your praise. All creation groans together in worship waiting for the final redemption. But for us, rather than accompany creation in this song of hope, we release bitterness and tighten our lips, and we have turned our heads to despise. Instead of joining the creation in their hallelujah chorus, we let our hearts wither and our affections fade inside. Oh Lord, we are undeserving of anything that comes from your hand, for we have despised the waters of our baptism, and we have neglected the blood-sealed invitation to your table. And even still, your unrelenting grace and mercy are astonishing. So we come, not hiding the shame of our sin, to your cross, seeking forgiveness by the atoning work of Jesus. So Lord, in the name of our redeemer, hear our cry!

Response: Father, forgive us.

IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where the Great High Priest has now interceded on your behalf.

Brothers and Sisters, we do not serve a God who forgives only in part, but instead, he has thoroughly washed you in his grace and has cleansed you in his righteousness. For on this day he has been faithful to his promise to never leave you nor forsake you; therefore lift your drooping heads, for you have been given new life in the precious blood of Christ. Rejoice that your sin, though severe, has been nailed to the cross, your guilt has been buried, and your condemnation has been pardoned by the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He has brought you into his presence to feast, to fellowship, and to sing over you.

Church, you are loved with the most profound love the world has ever known. So lift up your hearts and hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!

Response: Thanks be to God!
