Song: “Oh How I Need You”

III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:
Each one of us has fallen short and is among a grumbling faithless people:

Lord, we confess that we have grievously sinned against you in word, thought,
and deed; We have once again fallen short of your glory.

Lord, we confess that:
Our prideful hearts have blinded our eyes to Your mercy and grace.
Our fear of the world has led to our lack of fear in You.
Our hearts have been led astray because of our lack of trust in your Commands.
Our love for the desire of the flesh and desire of the eyes has led us to doubt You.
Our anxieties have starved our souls of the joy of our salvation in Christ.

For this reason, we run to your infinite mercy and seek your forgiveness, so in the
name of Jesus, O Lord, hear our cry.

Response: Father, forgive us.

IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where the Great High Priest, Jesus Christ, has now interceded on your behalf.

This atonement is the fulfillment of the shadows of the Temple and the Tabernacle. This atonement is greater than that of the blood of bulls and goats. Christ has made atonement for us by means of his own blood.

Church, we serve the gracious God who does not forgive in part but in overflowing abundance, he lavishes his grace upon you. He delights to wash you clean of your sins, he rejoices to shape you and form you into the glorious image of his son. The cross declares that the Father holds no grudges against you, for you are his beloved children. The resurrection declares that Christ has not left you in the slavery of your sins, but has freed you from the slavery to sin. For you are his bride, and he calls you to come and bask in his eternal favor and love. For in Christ you are fully loved, fully cherished, fully cleansed, and fully redeemed.

So, church, lift up your hearts and hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!

Response: Thanks be to God!

Song: "Jesus Paid It All/How Great Thou Art"

VIII. BENEDICTION
Hebrews 13:20-21: Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip
you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
