Call: THIS IS THE WORD OF THE LORD.

III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
Corporate Call:
Lord, we confess that we have grievously sinned against you in word, thought, and deed; Not only in outward transgressions, but also in secret thoughts and desires that we are unable fully to understand, but which are all known to you.
We are in need of your infinite grace, for we have fallen short of your glory. Our hearts have strayed, our eyes have wandered, and our flesh desires that which you despise.
For this reason we run to your infinite mercy and seek your forgiveness. In the name of Jesus our Redeemer, hear our cry.
Response: Father, forgive us.
IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where the Great High Priest has now interceded on your behalf.
The Almighty God, the maker of heaven and earth, the ascended King, has achieved all there is to accomplish to fully forgive and restore you who have fallen into sin.
Beloved, upon the cross Jesus the Christ has borne your sins, he has freed you from your guilt, and he has cleansed you from your shame. Through his resurrection he bestowed you life, and now the ascended Christ who rules and reigns from the right hand of the Father has given you a new name and calls you his own. So lift up your hearts and hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!

Numbers 6:24-26 - The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
