Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:
Lord, by your word, you have called creation into existence. By your touch, you cause the lame to dance, and by your love, you have given us new life. Yes, Lord, by your hand comes all goodness, truth, and beauty, yet we have ignored that which you have so graciously given your creation. We have failed to worship you. We have failed to love you. We have neglected your law and fallen short of your glory. We confess we have sinned against you, oh Lord, we have sinned against you in thought word and deed. For this reason we run to your infinite mercy and seek your forgiveness. In the name of Jesus our Redeemer, hear our cry.

Response: Father, forgive us.

IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father where the Great High Priest has now interceded on your behalf.

Yes, Church, though sin is severe, and the weight of our wickedness will crush us to dust. We serve the great creator king who, from the dust of the earth, brings forth new life. From the ashes of our sin, he has brought you into his new creation. For Jesus emptied himself, taking on the form of a servant, he was crucified dead and buried, he entered into the dust of the grave and then rose victorious with you in his arms. He bore your sin in his body, and in his resurrection, he has ushered you into his perfect covenant faithfulness, declaring you eternally righteous according to his great love. For Jesus Christ has overcome every snare, every trap, and every obstacle that would keep you from the throne of God’s grace.

So Church, lift up your hearts and hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you, your sins are forgiven!

Response: Thanks be to God!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
