III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:
Our sins, O God, are not hidden from you; you know how foolish we have been.  Lord, our twisted thoughts, deviant desires and evil affections have waged war within our souls. We have become resentful toward those who have crossed us, we have lashed out at those who love us, and we have become impatient with those who need us. We have walked willingly into the tomb of selfishness, we have made our bed with the dead dry bones of bitterness. Lord, the deceitfulness of our hearts is beyond our understanding, and the weight of our sin is more than we can bear. For this reason we run to your infinite mercy and seek your forgiveness. In the name of Jesus our Redeemer, hear our cry.

Response: Father, forgive us.

IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!

Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where the Great High Priest has now interceded on your behalf.

Church, the sin we are unable to bear was placed on the shoulders of King Jesus. He took your sin, every evil thought, every deviant desire, and every evil affection and buried them in the grave where they were stripped of their power and put to open shame. He is victorious over every dark power that would seek to condemn you. He has redeemed you from the chains of slavery and has given you new life in his name.

Church, there is nothing, no height nor depth that can separate you from the eternal love of God!

So lift up your hearts and hear these words, by the great and powerful name of Jesus I declare to you that your sins are forgiven!

Response: Thanks be to God!

Song: "O Praise The Name (Anástasis)"
