II. CALL TO WORSHIP
Reading: Psalm 40:1-5

Response: THANKS BE TO GOD!

Song: “Lord I Need You”
Song: “How Deep the Father's Love For Us”

III. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Corporate Call:
Lord, hear our prayer; and let our cry come to you. Father, we confess that we have sinned against you in word, thought, and deed. Not only in outward transgressions, but also in secret thoughts and desires that dishonor you. Lord, we have placed ourselves before others, and have insisted on our own way rather than walking in yours. We have not leaned on your understanding, but have become weak and we stumble under the weight of our wayward hearts. Lord, we thank You that You bend your ear to those who call for you, we thank you that you do not withhold pardon from us. So Lord, in Christ’s name, hear this prayer from your people according to your mercy:

Response: Father, forgive us.

IV. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!

Church, arise and stand with me, for your prayers have not failed, your confession has ascended to the right hand of the Father, where your Great High Priest, the Lord Jesus has now interceded on your behalf.

Yahweh, the one true God sees all and knows all, He sees you and knows you. He is the ground of all reality and reason. His existence gives meaning to love, His Word upholds all creation. He causes the sun to rise, the tides to ebb, and the stars to shine. And He avails Himself to you this morning.  This God, our faithful God, does not withhold his sure and steadfast forgiveness from you.

Church, He who formed you, and who fashioned you, is with you when you pass through the waters. His hand will keep you through the rising flood. And when you walk through the fire, you shall not be consumed. For His presence is a shield about You and His pierced hands uphold you. He counts all the stars and the sands of the seashore, and the hairs on your head.

Church, your God has not forgotten you, but comes to you with a love more fierce than the raging of the sea. So be at rest this morning and rejoice, hear the song that Yahweh sings over you. Hear these words with joy and fasten them to your heart. Church, I declare to you that by the great and powerful name of Jesus, your sins are forgiven!

Response: Thanks be to God!

Song: "Great Are You Lord"
